As stated in the announcement of the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina BiH to the UN Sven Alkalaj, the vote was carried out in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
In accordance with the procedure for obtaining voting instructions at UN sessions, the Permanent Mission of BiH to the UN New York acted in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH when voting on the above-mentioned resolution, as stated in the announcement.
The mission of BiH abstained during the vote in the Third Committee of the UN on the situation of human rights in Iran. This vote was opposed to the vote of the EU member states who voted for the adoption of the resolution.
The EU OfficeEU Office in Sarajevo expressed regret for such a vote by BiH and said they expect BiH to work on harmonization with the EU's positions.
