Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha unveiled the government's urgent phase action plan for dealing with the issue earlier this week, with BANGKOK NNT Tackling narcotics as a national agenda.
The prime minister attended the unveiling of monetary awards for officers involved in asset seizures in major drug cases in 2022, including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Foreign Anti-Narcotics and Crime Community of Thailand FANC. A 30% cut from the value of assets seized in the cases was awarded to officials who worked on four cases, equivalent to about 8 million baht.
