Mostar Airport sees only 711 passengers in October

Mostar Airport recorded only 711 passengers in October, a drop of 88.7 percent compared to the same month in the period before the 2019 epidemic.

The airport welcomed 9.995 passengers in the period from January to October, which is 68.1 percent less than three years ago.

Mostar Airport has struggled to attract customers in recent years and has been severely affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.

Its main source of traffic, which refers to European charters that serve religious pilgrims, has been almost wiped out.

The airport handled just 1.374 passengers in 2020, while the numbers barely improved in 2021, with a total of 1.942 passengers passing through its doors.

Its performance has improved slightly this year, but it is still below 2014 when it processed 78.055 passengers.

Mostar Airport signed a contract with WizzAir in September, according to which the low-cost airline will fly to the city in the summer of 2023.

Klix.ba reports that WizzAir has not commented on this issue and hasn't scheduled any flights to Mostar next year.
