Matt Higgins, RSE Ventures CEO, discusses NFT, Web3 in New York

Entrepreneur and RSE Ventures CEO Matt Higgins has been in the NFT space for years and has seen it all.

Higgins shared with Benzinga his lessons learned and what could be next for Web 3 in general.

Higgins knew exactly where he was when he first encountered NFTs, Cryptocurrency: When asked about his history with non-fungible tokens, Higgins knew exactly where he was.

Higgins recalled being told to buy five CryptoPunks at a dinner with Gary Vaynerchuk aka Gary Vee.

These little JPEGs called CryptoPunks were going to be huge, Higgins told Benzinga, recalling Vee's advice.

Higgins asked Why not to buy them instead? He said that every other rational human would have asked.

Digital ownership will be represented on the blockchain. The blockchain will be used for ticketing and on and on. While Higgins began to come around, he still questioned why CryptoPunks, which Vee responded to by saying that they were the OG.

I ignored it and spent the next several months watching the space. Higgins said he had made every mistake in the NFT and cryptocurrencies sectors, and he was proud of it. This includes being hacked, rug-pulled and chasing tcoins to $0.

What's going to happen next for Cryptocurrencies, NFTs? Higgins said he had seen this pattern play out before and it was important to be on the edge.

Higgins told Benzinga that now is the ultimate opportunity with capitulation underway. I have never lost sight of how exciting the blockchain is and how exciting it is. Higgins is a fan of ENS USD and ETH ETH USD.

I do think that ETH is the winner, you do want one scalable layer 1. Higgins said he is shocked at how many people who have earned their battle scars in the NFTs and in cryptography are now capitulating.

He said that if you wait for your conviction to be validated by the marketplace before you invest or take action, you ll miss your opportunity. In this case, Higgins said that he meant investing with time and commitment and not financial.

The EXCLUSIVE: Yuga Labs Co-Founder Greg Solano, AKA Gargamel, Is Coming To Benzinga's Future Of Cryptocurrency Event: Here Are The Details

Higgins said that it was important to have in-real life events as Web 3 can enable isolation. Higgins said you want to look at people in the eye.

Higgins is speaking at Future ofCryptocurrency on a panel titled The Status of Venture Funding in Cryptocurrencies and Web 3. When asked who he was excited to hear speak at Future of Cryptocurrencies, Higgins shared several panelists.

I would always pay money to hear the Mooch Anthony Scaramucci speak. Higgins was excited to hear fellow Shark Tank host Kevin O Leary. Higgins was previously a guest shark on the show.

The price of admission is always worth it. Higgins was an investor in Yuga Labs and excited to hear co-founder Greg Solano.

I am curious to see the first institutional player make their way and what their strategy is. Higgins loves investing in infrastructure plays, such as ImmutableX IMX USD, which will also be speaking at the event.

On December 14th, Higgins has a new book called Burn the Boats that looks at the topic of hesitation and hedging instead of going all in.

Higgins called the book a little genre-defining, covering self-help, business and being a bit of a memoir.

Higgins believed that we would look back and laugh at this, in the sense that books were not readily available to buy with cryptocurrencies.

Hear Matt Higgins and many more speakers at Benzinga s Future of Cryptocurrencies on December 7 in New York City.
