Bosniak Intellectuals discuss relations with Croatia

The conclusions of the conference Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina BiH and the Republic of Croatia open issues and perspectives were presented yesterday at the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals in Sarajevo.

The organizers of the conference are the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals, the Croatian National Council of BiH, the Forum of Parliamentarians of BiH 1990, JKPHD La Benevolencija and the Center for the Promotion of Civil Society.

At a press conference yesterday, Kasim Trnka, an expert on constitutional law, pointed out that institutional relations between BiHand Croatia are almost at their lowest point, and inappropriate rhetoric is causing unrest between representatives of institutions as well as those who present themselves as representatives of the people.

The Republic of Croatia should speak more respectfully about BiH, unlike Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, who has a completely different connotation in his presentations. We are witness to daily interference in the internal affairs of BiH from both the East and West. The agreement on the state border, which has not yet been ratified by the Croatian parliament, is something we believe will improve relations, just like Serbia does not want to sign the border agreement with BiHciting various reasons, mentioned by Trnka.

The conference was to raise awareness in BiH and Croatia about the importance of good neighborly relations between the two countries and all the peoples who live in them.

In a statement from the Dean of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, Ivan Kopric, emphasized that Croatia was the last to join the EU, and that it had a significant impact on the functioning of the state.

Croatian historian Hrvoje Klasic stressed that quality, different education, unlike the educational system used in BiH, is a prerequisite for the development of a society.

BiH and Croatia have the longest border and a historical context of connection that should lead to cooperation, trust and common progress. Communication channels have not been built recently, even at the level of cooperation between civil society organizations, the academic community, and public figures, according to Vijesti.ba.
