Apple Electric Car Launch 2022 postponed

Apple Electric Car fans who are waiting for the big reveal might have some not-so good news. The launch schedule may have to be moved further down the timeline. There have been a lot of delays in the past year when it comes to the development of the Project Titan, the codename for the Apple electric car. According to a report by Bloomberg, the launch timeline has been pushed back to 2026.

The company's shares fell 2.4 per cent after a delay in Apple's electric car launch. Since 2014, Apple has been working on a car project, known as Project Titan, since the company began designing a vehicle from scratch. The project has had a lot of high-profile exits and entrances in the past few years.

Apple is planning to build a less ambitious design that will include a steering wheel and pedals and only support full autonomous capabilities on highways, as a result of the reversal of its plans for a self-driving electric vehicle.

The company is hoping to develop a vehicle that will allow drivers to conduct other tasks on a freeway and be alerted in time to switch to manual control when necessary. In a Bloomberg report last year, a Bloomberg report said that Apple was aiming to launch its electric car as early as 2025, with a focus on full self-driving capabilities.
