Bosnian Army guards acquitted of war crimes charges

Dragi a Te i and Rajko Losi were acquitted of the charges of war crimes against prisoners of war and war crimes against the civilian population, by the first-instance verdict of the District Court in East Sarajevo, the Balkan Research Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina BIRN BiH learns.

Dragi a Te i and Rajko Losi are accused of having inhumanely treated prisoners of war and civilians imprisoned in the premises of the Basic Court in Vlasenica from May 1993 to the end of December 1995.

Te i was charged as a member of the Army of the Republika Srpska and Losi as a member of the reserve staff of the Vlasenica Public Security Station as a guard. The indictment against Te i was confirmed in September 2016 and against Losi in March 2019. These two cases were merged by the Court's decision.

The East Sarajevo District Public Prosecutor's Office told BIRN BiH that they have not received a written copy of the verdict, and once they do, they will decide on the appeal.
