Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney doesn’t think Fortnite will perform well in VR

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney doesn't think Fortnite will perform well in virtual reality, but Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms Inc. META, may disagree.

Sweeney doesn't think Fornite in VR would work well, considering the game experience involves intense motion. He said the company has no plans to build it.

Sweeney said that they'll be happy to collaborate with a tech giant like Meta on other metaverse projects.

Zuckerberg may disagree with the fact that a game like Fortnite is not suitable for VR, according to the report. Meta acquired the developers of Population: One, an Oculus game that has a lot of running, shooting, building structures and basic parkour last year, according to the report. The game is even getting a creative option, which will make it more similar to Fortnite.

The report noted that Epic may find the prospect of Fortnite in VR of little benefit due to the fact that VR is yet to be widely adopted and expensive.
