Japan pm plans to reduce electricity prices

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida plans to take further action to reduce the burden caused by surging electricity prices in line with the economic situation, according to Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

He told the House of Representatives that they will take whatever measures necessary without hesitation.

The government s electricity rate reduction program is up and running, starting from January, but further support for households is already being mulled out of concern that rates could push higher.

Kishida said that one of the government's basic principles for supporting children and child rearing parents is to strengthen economic support, with a focus on child allowances. He stated that he intends to haveten the consideration of specific measures.

With regard to the proposal by Toshimitsu Motegi, secretary general of the Liberal Democratic Party, that the income limit for parents to receive child allowances be removed, Kishida merely stated, I understand that s one opinion.
