China looks forward to working with Netherlands to implement important consensus, says Foreign Minister

CN BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang held phone conversations with Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al SaudFaisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero on Monday.

While talking to Hoekstra, Qin said China is looking forward to working with the Netherlands to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges at all levels and push for new progress in the open and practical China-Netherlands cooperative partnership.

China will work with the Netherlands in multilateral areas like climate change, and maintain an open and orderly international trade environment rather than a fragmented and chaotic one, he said.

Qin said that President Xi Jinping's recent presence at the first China-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council GCC Summit and his state visit to Saudi Arabia have been complete success, as well as the recent presence of the Chinese-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council GCC Summit.

Qin said that China is ready to strengthen the China-GCC strategic partnership, better safeguard the common interests of the vast developing countries, and uphold basic norms governing international relations, including non-interference in internal affairs.

During phone talks with Cafiero, Qin said that China and Argentina are good friends and good partners, and that China is willing to work with Argentina to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, and win-win cooperation between China and Argentina, so as to promote the development of China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership.

China will support Argentina in preserving national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as always, said Qing.

The Chinese FM said the two sides should promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, adding that China supports Argentina in playing a bigger role in international and regional affairs.

Foreign ministers of the three countries expressed their willingness to strengthen exchanges at all levels and improve cooperation with China, to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the countries and to advance bilateral relations to a higher level.

Qin and Hoekstra also exchanged views on the Japanese government's decision to discharge nuclear-contaminated water into the ocean. Both sides agreed that such action concerns human health and the marine environment, on which they agreed to maintain communication.
