Ukraine Defence Minister leaves French counterpart in Paris

The PHOTO POOL AFP KIEV Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said he has signed a Memorandum with his French counterpart and the Thales Group on the supply of MG 200 radars for Ukrainian air defenders.

The Ukrainian military will be able to spot enemy drones and missiles, including ballistic missiles, as a result of the radars, according to Reznikov in a tweet on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Reznikov arrived in France for a two-day visit, and met with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu and French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss Ukraine's defense needs.

In a separate tweet, the minister said that the conversation with Macron was frank and productive, adding that the urgent operational needs of the Ukrainian army were on the agenda.

Reznikov thanked Macron and the French people for their support for Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with his visiting Austrian counterpart Alexander VanVan der Bellen on Wednesday to discuss bilateral cooperation and assistance for Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian presidential press service.

During the talks, Zelensky and Van der Bellen talked about energy, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, and the development of Ukrainian communities.

Zelensky thanked Austria for pushing forward humanitarian ties and providing 200 million euro about $219 million in assistance for Ukraine.
