Fruit and vegetable growers are gathering in Plovdiv for a national meeting. The event is organized by the Fruit and Vegetable ChamberFruit and Vegetable Chamber and the National Association of Potato Growers.
The minister of agriculture Yavor Gechev and experts from the ministry will be speaking about the long-term strategy for the revival of traditional Bulgarian production. The meeting will be attended by the Minister of Agriculture Yavor Gechev and industry representatives who will present the real problems and challenges for the producers. The focus will be on organic production.
Another 8 organizations fruit and vegetable producers declared today they would organize a protest to change the strategic plan after the government has been refusing to hold a dialogue with them for months. The plan does not benefit farmers, but will cater to lobbying interests in its current form. The protest will take place in Ruse.
