Bulgaria's Kardzhali district joins hands with Red Cross

Christians and Muslims in Bulgaria's Kardzhali district joined together in support of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey. Assistance points have been opened in all seven municipalities of the district and large villages. They will be transported by trucks to Edirne, from where they will be distributed to the affected areas. Common prayers in the mosque and in the church are part of the common cause. There are a number of other municipalities in the country that collect donations.

A bus with clothes collected by students left for Turkey early this morning. Another bus will leave for Syria later today. This was announced by Daniel Parushev from the National Representation of Student Councils.

A volunteer Deniz Mutlu, who organized a donation campaign in Plovdiv together with Pavel Nachev, managed to drive a total of 15 buses to Edirne, loaded with aid for the victims in Turkey.

The regional medical college in Plovdiv has announced that it will donate BGN 5,000 to the victims in Turkey and Syria. We express our sincere sympathy to the families of the victims. The college said that they wish to have a speedy recovery for the injured and all the victims.

Any donations to the bank account of the Bulgarian Red Cross are welcome to join the campaign.
