Croatia Airlines is contemplating restoring flights between Zagreb and Mostar, which operated twice per week with the Dash 8 turboprop aircraft until the outbreak of the coronaviruses.
The head of the Herzegovina-Neretva government, Nevenko Herceg, said the plan is for Croatia Airlines to introduce three weekly flights between Zagreb and Mostar after talks with airline officials at the tourism and trade fair ITB Berlin. Services could begin as early as May as the final contract is signed, according to Herceg. All the details will be negotiated in the next few months.
Croatia Airlines was previously subsidised by local authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Zagreb to Mostar service. Mostar Airport is struggling to attract passengers and airlines. The Ex Yu Aviation news portal reports that it handled just five travellers during the first month of the year.
