PARIS Reuters - A French minister will meet with the new owners of the pornography website Pornhub to make sure minors are protected and that the site does not break any laws, he said on Friday.
Since then, MindGeek has said Mastercard reinstated access to its subscription sites, but both companies suspended ties with the company's advertising arm TrafficJunky after a lawsuit raised questions about whether they could be facilitating child pornography.
Ethical Capital Partners, a Canadian private equity firm, said earlier this week it had bought MindGeek, which has faced complaints about Pornhub's content.
Jean-Noel Barrot, a junior government minister covering the telecoms and digital economy sectors, said that they would meet their directors to make sure they are willing to operate within our laws and to make sure they protect minors.
MindGeek said it would work with Ethical Capital Partners ECP on matters of trust and safety with regulators.
