The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdi met with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag, Michael Roth, today in Berlin and expressed his gratitude for the diplomatic efforts of the Federal Republic of Germany regarding the granting of candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2022.
He introduced himself to the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the legislative priorities of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period.
The Chair of the Committee Roth said that Germany is dedicated to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans and emphasized the support for the Euro-Atlantic path.
Zvizdi and Roth pointed out that it is necessary to speed up the path towards European integration to fulfill the fourteen priorities of the Opinion of the European Commission. The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to stop secessionist rhetoric and that such a policy will not be tolerated.
Roth stated that Germany will continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina on this path, because he believes that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a single, sovereign, multinational and multi-confessional state.
Zvizdi will be in the Federal Republic of Germany for a two-day visit, during which he will have meetings with high-ranking officials of the Bundestag and the Federal Republic of Germany, the Press Service of the BiH PA said.
