Elon Musk says Twitter is the most influential platform on planet

After Elon Musk bought the company last year, a social media platform continues to grow leaps and bounds and draws millions of new users who felt left before the acquisition, even though naysayers still predict the death of Twitter. Now, Twitter has become the most influential platform on the planet.

Musk shared the new Twitter usage a few hours ago, and the result is more than amazing. Musk said that Twitter has exceeded 8 billion user-minutes per day, making it one of the most influential, smartest people on Earth. Musk is not alone in talking about Twitter's insane success. Microstrategy founder and CEO Michael Saylor said that Twitter gets 48 billion hours of attention each year. Another Twitter user quickly corrected Saylor saying that Twitter gets about 2.9 trillion hours per year, based on Elon Musk's number.

On April 25, Twitter was sold to Elon Musk for $44 billion. The richest person in the world will own the most influential social platform once completed. Immediately after the deal, Musk tweeted:

It is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital city square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated, said Mr. Musk. I want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features and making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating spambots, and authenticating all humans. I look forward to working with the community to unlock it because of the tremendous potential of Twitter.
