The current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union, as well as the improvement of interparliamentary cooperation, were discussed by the two officials.
Zvizdi invited the Bundestag delegation, headed by President Bas, to visit the BiH Parliament and it was agreed in principle that it would be on July 11, 2024.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, a debate be held in the Bundestag at the beginning of July this year and to call for a firm and lasting peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The consequences of the aggression against Ukraine were discussed by the two officials. Zvizdi said that in Bosnia and Herzegovina we are carefully watching the development of the situation in Ukraine and as a state we support the Ukrainian people in defense against aggression, as well as its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Zvizdi thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for the diplomatic efforts to grant candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Bundestag recognizes the importance of BiH and the Western Balkans and provides full support for the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the coming period, Zvizdi hopes that BiH will have the political and expert support of the Federal Republic of Germany in the process of meeting the obligations from the European agenda.
