Polish regulator says micro-power contributed 109 percent more electricity

The Polish energy watchdog has reported that 109 percent of the electricity provided in 2022 by micro-power generation, most of which consists of solar panels, is provided by the electrical grid with 109 percent more electricity than the previous year.

According to the Energy Regulatory Office URE, such installations contributed 5.8 TWh of energy to the grid in 2022, which is compared to 2.7 TWh in 2021.

More than 1.2 million micro-installations were connected to the grid at the end of 2022, with the total installed capacity exceeding 9.3 GW, of which 99 percent were photovoltaic installations.

The URE said that 96 percent of the installed capacity was generated by consumers, which consume and produce electricity.
