Social media reigns debate on punishing parents who refuse vaccine

After receiving confirmation of their sanctions in 2023, the topic of punishing parents who refuse to vaccine has been revived on social media.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, a smaller number of confirmations of dismissal of immunization was received in the period 2020 -- 2022, due to the extraordinary circumstances of the work of health institutions.

Only 56 confirmations were received during 2022, and 56 calls were received from parents. A total of 23 parental couples refused to vaccinate their children, and received misdemeanor orders in the amount of 100 BAM or 2.300 BAM.

The number of confirmations received suddenly increased during the year 2023, and it is a symptomatic. In January this year, 57 confirmations were received, on the basis of 33 inspections being carried out.

In February, there were 52 calls, 50 of which were supervised, while more than 100 confirmations of incomplete vaccination status were received in March and calls were sent to parents, according to Klix.ba.
