Trump has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury.
On Thursday, Digital World Acquisition Corp, a blank-check firm that has been set to merge with former U.S. President Donald Trump's media and tech firm, named Katherine Chiles its chief financial officer.
The development comes after Digital World's chief executive, Patrick Orlando, has been removed from the company, saying that due to unprecedented headwinds faced by the company the board had agreed to select a new management team.
On March 11, the company named Cano the president and secretary of the company.
Chiles has served as a senior financial analyst for total system services, a payment solutions provider, and has worked for ING Americas.
In October 2021, Donald Trump's newly formed media company, Trump Media Technology Group, announced a deal to go public, which will merge with Digital World. The deal is now in doubt, despite the investigation by the Justice Department and the SEC, which have delayed its closing.
The company's shares have decreased more than 13% in the last 12 months of this year, according to the National Institutes of Health.
