On Saturday, ISRO successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C 55, a pair of Singaporean satellites weighing around 757 kg, from the Indian Space Research Organization.
The two satellites, EOS, are intended to be launched into an east-west low-inclination orbit.
The launch was made at the Satish Dhawan Space Center SDSC in Sriharikota, a rocket launch center in southern India.
PSLV-C 55 is a dedicated commercial PSLV mission from NewSpace India Limited NSIL for the international satellite customer from Singapore. In this mission, TeLEOS 2 will be the primary satellite and LUMELITE 4 will be the co-passenger satellite, the ISRO said in a statement.
India has launched a new rocket to put three satellites into orbit.
The TeLEOS 2 satellite will be utilized to support the government's satellite imagery requirements of various agencies of the government, while the LUMELITE 4 aims to enhance Singapore's e-navigation on maritime safety and benefit the global shipping community.
The mission was carried out under a contract with the New Space India Limited NSIL, the ISRO's commercial arm.
