All national servicemen in the Singapore Armed Forces SAF Singapore Police Force SPF and Singapore Civil Defence Force SCDF will be entitled to a S $125 to S $200 increase in their National Service NS allowance.
The increase is dependent on their rank and vocation, and the raise will take effect from July 1, the ministry of Defence MINDEF and Ministry of Home Affairs MHA said on Monday May 29.
A full-time national serviceman NSF holding the rank of recruit or trainee will now receive an additional S $755, an increase from the current S $630.
The rank of Corporal will be paid a monthly NS pay of S $1,250 from the current S $1,050.
For every 12 months they serve in that rank, NSFs receive a five percent increase. NSmen will receive a 5 percent to 10 percent increase if theysatitorily complete an NS activity in the previous work year, MINDEF and MHA said.
