Chinese mainland provinces to launch Hometown Market Carnival

Representatives of the 26 Chinese mainland provinces in Hong Kong hold a press conference on May 29 to give details of the Hometown Market Carnival, which will take place in Hong Kong on June 4, 4 and 5 in 2023. Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and the director of the Liaison Office of the Central People s Government in Hong Kong SAR Zheng Yanxiong have been invited to attend the launch ceremony scheduled to take place on Saturday.

The provinces include the HK Federation of Guangdong Community Organizations, the HK Foundation of Fujian Associations, the HK Federation of Hung Kong Guangxi Community Organizations, and the United Zhejiang Residents Association Hong Kong.

Over 200 booths showcase the country s home-grown dried goods, specialty cuisines, as well as ethnic handicrafts and clothing from 26 provinces. The festival's organizing committee has planned for 10 featured cultural performances exhibiting the unique cultural heritage of the provinces of Fujian, Sichuan, Shandong and Guangdong.

The event's aim is to boost domestic consumption, enhance Hong Kong residents understanding of the country's rich and diverse provincial cultural heritage, and contribute to Hong Kong's stability and prosperity.

The carnival will take place at Victoria Park on June 3, 4 and 5.
