Thundersquall, thunderstorms likely in parts of Rajasthan today

The Indian Meteorological DepartmentMeteorological Department IMD has issued a yellow warning for parts of Rajasthan on May 30 and 31. Besides this, the weather department also issued an orange warning for areas of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Ajmer, where thunderstorms and thundersqualls with speed of 50-60 kmph are likely, the Met Department official said.

The Met Department forecasts thundersquall, gusty winds reaching 60-70 kmph, and heavy rainfall in parts of north Rajasthan on May 30. On May 30th, the Met Department forecast hailstorms over Uttarakhand.

The weather watchdog forecast light moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and occasional gusty winds up to 60 kmph over northwest India until May 31 with a peak on May 30th and gradual reduction from June 1.

The Met Department also said that the country is unlikely to witness any heatwave over the next five days due to the rain showers in parts of Rajasthan. On Monday, the average temperature in Delhi was below the average of 5 degrees. The maximum temperature in Delhi was 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 21.8 degrees Celsius.
