Singapore's President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to T rkiyes Recep Tayyip Erdogan to congratulate him on his reappointment as president, the ministry of foreign affairs MFA said on Tuesday.
I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on your re-election as president of the Republic of T rkiye, said Madam Halimah in a congratulatory letter on Monday.
The people of T Kiye have given you a presidential mandate that reflects their confidence in your leadership. Madam Halimah said that both nations have warm and broad relationships, with strong links in areas like trade and investment, science and technology, and transport.
She added that T rkiye and Singapore have good cultural relations because of historical connections between Southeast Asia and the Ottoman empire.
In his congratulatory letter, Mr Lee highlighted the longstanding and warm relationship between Singapore and T rkiye, which is underpinned by the Strategic Partnership and the T rkiye Singapore Free Trade Agreement.
Both leaders congratulated Mr Erdogan and looked forward to deepening ties between the countries.
