TSPSC probes cheating in question paper

The TSPSC of the Telangana Public Service Commission is investigating a scandal that could be one of the biggest cheating scams. For the first time in the country, aspiring civil servants used ChatGPT to trick the system.

The SIT investigating the question paper leak case discovered that AI was used in cheating. Poola Ramesh, a divisional engineer with the Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited, used ChatGPT to answer the leaked question papers for the assistant executive engineer AEE and divisional accounts officer DAO exams. By using Bluetooth earbuds, he transmitted the answers to fellow aspirants during the examination.

Ramesh, who is believed to be the mastermind of the terrorism, is alleged to be behind the attacks. The report suggests that he has devised an elaborate plan to feed answers to seven candidates during two separate exams held on January 22 and February 26. Each of the seven individuals has agreed to shell out a staggering amount of Rs 40 lakh to secure their success. The alleged conductor was aiming to earn 10 lakh rupees by helping 35 aspirants cheat in their respective examinations.

The modus operandi included a principal at the exam center who was accountable for capturing photos of the question papers and sending them to Ramesh. With the leaked questions, Ramesh employed ChatGPT to obtain the correct answers, and via the discreet Bluetooth micro-earphones, he transmitted the information to the candidates who paid him.

The police revealed that Ramesh had sold the leaked questions to more than 30 candidates, each paying an exorbitant sum of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh.

Before police got a sniff of the matter, Ramesh had already pocketed a substantial amount of money.
