Hospitality and Convention Centre celebrates success in 2022

The business of Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre started in an unstable operating environment for the year 2022. The impact of the changed security situation in Europe, the energy crisis, the recession and the high inflation on the Finnish economy were significant. The long pause in events, the rescheduling of events and the personnel changes that inevitably followed the exceptional period had to be taken into account.

The Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre responded to the challenges by intensifying contact with its customers, strongly indicating the return of events and working in numerous ways to restore visitor numbers.

The start-up of the company started in spring 2022, and it went well. The late spring and autumn programming were unprecedently dense. The Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre and its subsidiary, Expomark Oy, held 25 trade fair events during the year, and in addition to the events produced by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, 27 guest events, 476 meetings, Congresses and parties and one entertainment event were held at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The company's revenue in 2022 was 46 million euros.

The Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre continued its long-standing responsibility work and was the first event organiser in Finland to receive a GOLDexcellent level SHORE safety certificate, which confirms high-quality work in risk management and building a responsible business.

The most valued company is Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, which is the most valued company among businesspeople.

The successful return to everyday events is proven by the TEP survey of 2022 Business Decision Makers by market research company Taloustutkimus Oy, published in February. For the third year in a row, Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is the company that is most valued by business leaders and also the most known company in its sector in Finland.

In a busy and exceptional year, we were overcome by confidence that our business is based on a sustainable objective. We work for the benefit of the Finnish business life, and for that reason we have excellent prerequisites, know-how and experience. The results of the extensive Fair visitor survey commissioned by the Association of Trade Fair and Event Organisers in Finland at the end of 2022 show that people are longing to attend fairs and live events, which is evidenced by the results of the extensive fair visitor survey conducted by the Association of Trade Fair and Event Organisers in Finland. The majority of respondents think they will visit trade fairs as often in the future as they did before COVID-19, said CEO Anni Veps l inen at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

The annual report 2022 of the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is published, which can be seen here.
