Bos and Herzegovina sets up Interdepartmental working group to prepare agricultural census results

The BiH Council of Ministers passed a Resolution on the formation of an Interdepartmental Working Group to prepare the action plan for the preparation, implementation and dissemination of the results of the agricultural census in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2023 - 2026.

Information regarding the need to prepare, implement and disseminate the results of the census of agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2023 2026 was previously adopted.

After years of stagnation, activities were launched in the direction of fulfilling the objectives of the European Partnership Agreement, which emphasises that BiH must enhance the collection and processing of agricultural statistical data in accordance with EU standards and methodologies, the Council of Ministers said.

The decision on the creation of the Interdepartmental working group for the preparation of the action plan for the preparation, implementation and dissemination of the census of agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2023-2026, in which all relevant institutions in BiH participate, defines the main activities, bearers of their implementation and the deadlines for all stages in the process of preparation, implementation and dissemination of the results of the agricultural census.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina approves the agreed action plan for the preparation, implementation and dissemination of the results of the census of agricultural land in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2023 - 2026 period to be adopted by the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently the only country in Europe that has not conducted a comprehensive agricultural census, which was the last census of agriculture in the Socialist Republic of BiH in 1960.
