Renowned actor and television presenter Mandira Bedi, 51, expressed her dismay upon returning to Mumbai recently, saying the airport's atmosphere was a scene of absolute chaos. ''Nightmarish'' experience left hapless passengers left to fend for themselves amidst a lack of flight and conveyor belt information displayed at Terminal 2 of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Bedi said the trip took her an hour at Terminal 2 off the Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in her search to locate her luggage. To her astonishment, she found one of her suitcases on an abandoned conveyor belt, while the other had been offloaded near a different belt, unattended.
Bedi's Instagram page, where she boasts a substantial following of over 2 million, has been criticized by airport authorities and services.
My kids and I landed in a nightmare at Mumbai's Terminal 2 after 2 weeks, 3 countries, and 6 airports, she said. The screen is cluttered with only a single arriving flight. Or on the conveyer belts. She also highlighted the reality of the ordeal, highlighting the absolute chaos and the bewildered passengers struggling to find their way.
After a hit and miss of three belts and more than an hour of asking around, I saw one lone suitcase on some deserted belt and my other suitcase offloaded near another belt, she said.
Among her two children, Bedi spent summer vacationing in Greece, Denmark, and Switzerland before returning to Mumbai. The filmmaker Raj Kaushal, an Indian film director, died on June 30, 2021, due to a sudden heart attack.
