Bürocratic reshuffle gives nod to some senior bureaucrats

The Delhi government has enacted the first major Bürocratic reshuffle after the enactment of the GNCTD Act 2023, giving rise to eight AGMUT cadre IAS officers transferred to the city from other states and union territories.

A day after Chief Minister Arvinnd Kejriwal-led National Capital Civil Services Authority recommended postings of Group 'A officers, the order also gave additional charges to some senior bureaucrats.

The order states that the additional chief secretary of the Land and Building Additional Chief Secretary Manish Gupta will take additional charge as the chief executive officer of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board and the Managing Director of Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation.

She is also charged by the Labour and Industries Department.

A Anbarasu, who holds the charge of the principal commissioner, will also act as the chief executive officer of the Delhi Jal Board.

HPS Sran, who is the Secretary of the Public Grievance Commission with additional charge of additional inspector general, has been appointed as Secretary of the Information Technology Department and managing director of Geospatial Data Limited.

Chokha Ram Garg, the chief executive of the department of art, culture and languages, has been given a additional charge of director of the Union Territory Civil Services.

Assam Goa Mizoram and Union Territories cadre officers awaiting postings also have been given charge of different departments.

These IAS officers are: Vinton P Kavle, who has been given the charge of Secretary of Social welfare and Women and Child Development Departments, Anil Kumar Singh now posts as Registrar.

The batch of Ajay Kumar Bisht has been posted as a special commissioner in the trade and taxes department, the order said.

The NCCSA recommended the removal of eight IAS officers awaiting posting since their transfer to Delhi a couple of months ago, as well as disciplinary proceedings against some serving officers of the Delhi government.

The Chief Minister's authority includes the chief secretary and the principal secretary of the Delhi government. The organisation takes call on service matters, including transfer and posting of Group 'A' officers and disciplinary action against officials concerned in the Delhi government.

It was created through an ordinance of the centre which reversed the effect of a Supreme Court decision in May that granted the Delhi government executive control over services that was earlier exercised by the Lt Governor.
