Thousands of NatWest customers have been left short after cash disappears from their accounts. There were worries that they would accrue fees after the issue resulted in their accounts being overdrawn. One customer, Ellie Regan, said not being able to access her money had hugely disrupted her holiday and asked to know when the error would be rectified.
A NatWest spokeswoman said the issue had been resolved in a statement on Friday. No customers will be left out of pocket as a result of this, he said. NatWest responded to individual users on X on Thursday afternoon, saying the incident stemmed from an 'ongoing incident with our cash deposit machines'.
