RBI extends financial deadlines for demat accounts

Several financial-related deadlines have been extended since demat nomination and depositing Rs 2000 notes. The RBI has extended the exchange and deposit deadline to Rs. 2000 to October 7, 2023 from September 30, 2023. Earlier today, SEBI declared that trading and demat accounts that do not have a 'choice of nomination' by 30 September shall be frozen.

In respect to demat accounts, it has been decided to extend the last date for nomination selection to December 31.

Under the 375 days of Amrit Mahotsav FD program, the bank offers a interest rate of 7.10% to general, NRE and NRO. The program is now extended to October 31, 2023. The bank offers 7.60% for senior citizens. Under the new arrangement, the bank offers a 7.15% interest rate to general citizens and 7.65% to senior citizens under 444 days.

EPFO extends the deadline to upload details for a higher pension amount.

Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has given employers three more months for uploading wage details regarding pension on higher wages. The deadline for uploading wage details, which ended on September 30 has been extended following representations from Employers & Employers' Associations, according to a labour ministry release.
