Crypto wallet company Mixin Network suspends deposits, withdraws money

After being attacked by hackers on Sept. 23, Mixin Network, a Hong Kong-based digital wallet company, suspended deposits and withdrawals.

The target was the database of the company's cloud service provider, mixin said, without identifying the attackers. It has contacted Google and blockchain security company, @SlowMist_Team, to help in the investigation.

The company's website notes that Mixin Network is an open-source and decentralized platform to bring speed and scalability to the blockchain.

This could be one of the largest attacks this year, according to the website DefiLlama, which tracks crypto hacks. The total losses were $735 million in 2023, according to DefiLlama data. In 60 hacks, hackers took more than $3.2 billion in a year's worth of hacks.
