Binance CEO says Google displaying phishing sites on search results page

Binance's Chief Executive Officer and founder, Changpeng Zhao, has revealed that Google is displaying phishing sites on the search engine results page when users enter a question about CoinMarketCap.

But it appears that cyber criminals are not stopping them from executing their attacks alone, with multiple exploits, malicious attacks and scams that pilfered millions of cryptocurrency. No wonder, CZ posted a warning Thursday about another way malicious actors victimize crypto investors.

The crypto developer shared a screenshot of the search results of Google for 'coinmarketcap'. The image shows that the top three results in the search engine were not the official CMC website but phishing sites.

This could put crypto investors at significant risk, especially unsuspecting individuals who might use any of these phishing links and try to add smart contract addresses to MetaMask. Binance's CEO said that his team is currently looking to resolve the matter by reaching out to Google.

At the moment, all they could do is warn investors about the issue to create awareness, he said. Google has not responded to the matter, but crypto Twitter has so far condemned this trend.

'It's hard to turn down what brings them more pay,' said Twitter user @__Moon2mean.

Twitter user @TajoCrypto said the tweets came from a Twitter user.
