Crypto Punk, NFTs worth $4M destroyed this month

Tokens and NFTs worth $4M destroyed today, the same address burned 2,500 ETH in July.

The crypto community has been left stunned by the disappearance of a mysterious wallet formerly known as nd4.eth, which has burned digital assets worth millions of dollars over the past two weeks.

The wallet burned just hours ago, burning $3.6 million worth of various tokens, including GNS and GMX.

In the past day, this wallet has sent into the virtual bonfire, aka the burn address, a CryptoPunk, three Bored Apes, two Mutant Apes and two Bored Ape Kennel Club NFTs. In total, the digital blaze consumed blue-chip NFTs worth $280,000 at current floor prices.

The same address burned 2,500 ETH worth $4.65M on July 26. The wallet had a total value of 2,310 ETH on Jan 19 and now has just 0.23 ETH left.

The storage of assets from an address can never be recovered, resulting in an irreversible decrease in the supply of the asset.

The social media world is exploding with theories ranging from elaborate performance art to relationships issues.

The wallet even sent its valuable three-letter ENS domain to the burn address. This year's register was valid for 9.47 ETH, nd4.eth was valid until 2042, but it seems retirement came early.

One concerned observer sent over an NFT urging the address owner to seek help.

As the community watches this digital pyre with a mixture of fascination, bewilderment, and the odd plea for free NFTs, the person behind ND4Eth remains an inscrutable enigma.

It's a story that's both mystery and comedy, as well as all crypto.
