Arbitrum, the top Ethereum Layer 2 solution in terms of total value locked (TVL), has restarted its Odyssey campaign in an effort to attract new users. The campaign spans over seven weeks and explores 13 of Arbitrum's prominent protocols and communities, allowing participants to earn NFT badges by completing tasks. However, while Arbitrum has historically held more than 50% of Ethereum's Layer 2 ecosystem in terms of TVL, it has fallen behind rival networks like zkSync Era, Base, and Starknet when it comes to transaction throughput. Over the past 30 days, Arbitrum recorded 15.9 million transactions, while zkSync Era led with 30.6 million, followed by Base with 21.4 million and Starknet with 20 million. It is worth noting that the activity on zkSync Era and Starknet may be inflated due to opportunistic airdrop hunters manipulating transaction volumes. Arbitrum had initially launched Odyssey last year but temporarily suspended it due to high transaction fees. The campaign was resumed after the completion of Arbitrum's Nitro upgrade, which increased its throughput by seven times. Notable projects featured in the campaign include Uniswap, Handle Fi, tofuNFT, and BattleFly.
