According to blockchain data, Scroll, a layer 2 scaling solution for the Ethereum blockchain, has recently launched its main network. Led by co-founder Sandy Peng, Scroll has developed a ZK rollup, a layer-2 network utilizing zero-knowledge cryptography, that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This compatibility allows developers to easily transfer applications from Ethereum to the newly introduced "zkEVM" network. The unveiling of Scroll's network intensifies the competition among other providers of zkEVMs, such as Polygon and Matter Labs. A dashboard on Dune Analytics has been introduced to monitor the progress of Scroll's zkEVM, revealing that approximately 370 ETH has been bridged to the network as of Thursday. After two years of research and following the releases of zkEVMs by Polygon and Matter Labs, Scroll's zkEVM went live on a test network in February. However, it remains uncertain whether Scroll will introduce its own token, as the company has not made an official confirmation. The Block initially reported this blockchain data.
