Luxury sports car manufacturer, Ferrari, plans to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method in the United States and Europe. The decision came in response to requests from their affluent clientele, revealed Enrico Galliera, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of Ferrari. BitPay, a crypto payments provider, will facilitate transactions involving bitcoin, ether, and stablecoin USD coin during the initial launch in the U.S. Although cryptocurrency is a popular investment tool, it remains uncommon for major companies to accept it as a form of payment. Tesla, led by Elon Musk, briefly accepted bitcoin payments but later discontinued the service due to environmental concerns surrounding bitcoin mining's energy consumption.
