Belt and Road International Lawyers Association Prioritizes International Collaboration in Legal Services for Belt and Road Initiative Development

The Belt and Road International Lawyers Association aims to strengthen its global cooperation in the legal service industry as a means to offer legal assistance for the high-quality advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative. With over 2,670 members from 54 countries and regions, including lawyer associations, law firms, legal institutions, and individual lawyers, the association plans to deepen its research on the legal systems and policies of countries involved in the initiative, share their discoveries, and exchange experiences. Their objectives also involve the integration of legal resources to deliver research, consultation, and other related services to businesses and individuals engaged in international endeavors within countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. Moreover, they aim to enhance their communication and cooperation platform to attract more members and foster extensive collaboration among lawyers' communities in Belt and Road countries and regions. By engaging in comprehensive discussions on legal matters in various fields and providing specialized legal services for significant projects like the China Railway Express, infrastructure development, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the construction of the Sino-Thailand Railway project, the association has established nine professional committees in 2021. These committees cater to the specific needs of the Belt and Road Initiative construction and cover areas such as finance, cross-border dispute resolution, maritime and commercial law, investment and mergers, international trade, and intellectual property.
