ISRO Chairman Reveals Plans for India's Maiden International Space Station
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently unveiled its ambitious vision for the future of space exploration, announcing plans to launch India's inaugural international space station by 2028. S Somanath, the chairman of ISRO, revealed this pioneering initiative during a gathering in Ahmedabad. He articulated a detailed timeline for launching the initial module of the International Space Station (ISS), projecting a weight of 8 tonnes. Additionally, ISRO is working on developing a new rocket with the capability to handle a significantly larger load than current technology allows.
ISRO Sets Sights on India's First International Space Station
During an event in Ahmedabad, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), S Somanath, unveiled the organization's grand plan to launch India's maiden international space station by 2028. This ambitious project involves propelling the initial module of the International Space Station (ISS) into orbit within the next five years, with a projected weight of 8 tonnes. ISRO is also in the process of developing a new rocket capable of handling a much larger load than what is currently possible. Somanath also provided an update on the Aditya L-1 mission, which aims to study the solar atmosphere and is set to reach the L-1 point on January 6.
