Suresh Gopi's New Role as MoS Tourism and Petroleum

Suresh Gopi, the newly appointed Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum in the Narendra Modi-led government, expressed his gratitude for the support he received from people across various walks of life. He acknowledged the significant responsibility entrusted to him and emphasized his commitment to identifying prime tourist spots in India.

Gopi, who hails from Kerala, visited the Thali Mahadeva temple in Kozhikode upon his return to the state. He acknowledged the importance of his connections with people and temples, stating that he would take them into account while fulfilling his duties. He emphasized the role of people in his success and expressed his determination to remain connected to them.

As MoS Tourism, Gopi acknowledged the vastness of his responsibility. He highlighted the need to identify prime tourist spots across the country and expressed his commitment to fulfilling this task. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister had spoken to him specifically about Kerala's tourism potential.

Gopi refrained from commenting on political issues, including the recent controversy surrounding Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan's remarks and Congress MP M K Raghavan's demand for an AIIMS in Kozhikode. He stated that he would not engage in such discussions and emphasized the importance of respecting individual opinions and perspectives.

Gopi's victory in the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat marked a historic moment for the BJP in Kerala. He emerged victorious in a three-way contest against senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan and Left leader Sunil Kumar. His win signifies a significant shift in the political landscape of Kerala and underscores the growing popularity of the BJP in the state.
