Grovalue Financial Services Loses Registration for Violating Research Analyst Rules

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has cancelled the registration certificate of Grovalue Financial Services for violating research analyst regulations.

An inspection conducted by Sebi from April 2021 to August 2022 revealed that Grovalue Financial Services failed to comply with the provisions of the Research Analyst regulations. This included failing to maintain proper books of accounts and records, and not resolving investor grievances within the stipulated 30-day timeframe.

Sebi also noted Grovalue's lack of cooperation during the inspection and its failure to respond to notices issued by the regulator. This demonstrated a concerning lack of diligence from an intermediary responsible for analyzing investment decisions for investors.

As a result of these violations, Grovalue Financial Services has lost its registration as a research analyst. This means the firm can no longer provide research services to investors.

This case highlights the importance of research analysts adhering to regulatory requirements and prioritizing investor grievances. Failure to do so can result in severe consequences, including the loss of registration and the ability to operate in the market.
