The Ministry of Education has taken action by asking for a thorough report from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police concerning the alleged irregularities in the NEET(UG) examination-2024 conducted in Patna. They clarified that the matter of grace marks has been resolved in relation to the NEET(UG) -2024 issue but are actively investigating any reported irregularities during the examination in Patna.

The government has made it clear that severe consequences will be faced by any individual or organization found to be connected with any wrongdoing in the NEET (UG) Examination 2024 incident. They have reiterated their commitment to taking further action based on the detailed report received from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police. The Supreme Court also raised concerns regarding any negligence in the conduct of the NEET-UG 2024 exam, emphasizing the need for thorough investigation and action in case of any discrepancy.

Multiple petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court requesting the recall of NEET-UG 2024 results and a fresh examination due to alleged paper leakage and malpractices during the exam. Issues such as question paper leakage, awarding of compensatory marks, and anomalies in the examination questions have been raised by aspirants. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured that the scorecards of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates who received grace marks will be cancelled, and these students will have the opportunity to reappear for the exam. The NTA also announced that the exam will be conducted on June 23 with the results expected before June 30, despite the refusal of the apex court to stay the counselling of NEET-UG 2024.
