Former MP Prajwal Revanna's Police Custody Extended in Sexual Harassment Case

The former Member of Parliament from Hassan, Prajwal Revanna, found himself in legal trouble as he was arrested by the Karnataka Police upon his arrival at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport early on a Friday morning. This arrest was in connection to sexual harassment cases filed against him, leading to his custody extension until June 10th by a Bengaluru court. Subsequently, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) took charge of the case and conducted examinations on Revanna's physical and psychological well-being.

To delve deeper into understanding Revanna’s condition, the SIT turned to a panel of doctors affiliated with the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Centre in Bengaluru. Revanna underwent extensive examinations at the A B Vajpayee Medical College Hospital (Bowring Hospital) in central Bengaluru, where a team of six doctors examined him for over four hours. The main aim of these examinations was to create a comprehensive profile of Revanna encompassing his physical, psychological, and sexual aspects to potentially serve as evidence in the ongoing rape trials against him. It was highlighted by police sources that while a potency test is not mandated in rape cases, this innovative analysis could significantly aid in the investigation process.
