Andhra Pradesh Police Seize Cannabis Worth Rupees 40 Lakhs and Car in Chintoor Circle

Andhra Pradesh Police conducted operations in the area of Motugudem Police Station, Chintoor Circle, Alluri District, where they confiscated cannabis worth approximately 40 lakhs along with a car in two distinct cases. The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Rahul Meena, disclosed that the total value of the seized cannabis amounted to 40 lakhs, with one case involving the interception of around 550 kgs of ganja that was being moved from Motugudem to Morena, Madhya Pradesh in a van.

During their investigation, the police uncovered that five individuals from Madhya Pradesh, identified as Amit Giri, Shiva Dayal Dore, Alok Gotham, Ranjit Mavai, and Durgesh Goswami, had purchased 550 kg of ganja from a person named Sanjeev in Odisha. The ganja was then loaded in a forest near Motugudem village and transported to Madhya Pradesh. Several suspects, including Gennu, Ranjith Mawai, Durgesh Goswami, and Sanjeev, are currently on the run in relation to this case.

Subsequently, the police managed to apprehend one of the absconded individuals while he was transporting 250 kgs of ganja from Mangampadu to Hyderabad through Bhadrachalam in an Amaze car. The man arrested in connection with this crime was identified as Majji Venkat Sumanth. ASP Rahul Meena highlighted during a press conference in Chintur that there is a concerning trend of individuals unknowingly renting out their vehicles to ganja transporters, who provide false information and utilize these rented vehicles for the illicit transportation of cannabis.
