Rescue and Relief Operations Underway in Uttarakhand Following Cloudburst and Landslides

Following a devastating cloudburst and landslides along the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand, India, rescue and relief operations are in full swing. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Indian Air Force (IAF) are working tirelessly to assist stranded pilgrims and locals.

Over 1500 people have been rescued from the affected areas, and efforts are ongoing to reach those still stranded. Member of Parliament Anil Baluni visited the landslide-affected areas and assured that food and medical facilities are being provided to those in need.

Meanwhile, the Animal Husbandry Department is sending animal feed via helicopters for mules and horses affected by the disaster. Dr. Ashish Rawat, Chief Veterinary Officer, emphasized the importance of ensuring food availability for these animals.

Uttarakhand Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman reported that a total of 9,099 people have been rescued so far. Rescue operations are ongoing, with a focus on safely evacuating all stranded individuals.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is personally monitoring the situation and ensuring that all necessary resources are deployed for the rescue and relief efforts. The government is committed to providing assistance to those affected by this natural disaster.
