Tripura CM Announces Relief and Development Package for Gandatwisa

Following a series of unfortunate events in the Gandatwisa sub-division of Dhalai District, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited the area and announced a comprehensive relief and development package worth over Rs 242.55 crores.

Dr. Saha's visit included meeting with victims and family members of the deceased, Parameswar Reang, who tragically passed away after being injured during an Ananda Mela on July 7th. The Chief Minister also visited relief camps set up by the government to provide shelter for those affected by the subsequent unrest.

The family of Parameswar Reang will receive an additional Rs 4 lakh, bringing the total assistance to Rs 10 lakh.

101 families severely affected by the events will receive an additional Rs 2.05 lakh each, in addition to the Rs 95,000 already transferred.

Families with severely damaged property will receive an additional Rs 1 lakh, on top of the Rs 50,000 already provided.

Families with partly damaged property will receive an additional Rs 25,000, adding to the Rs 25,000 already provided.

In total, Rs 1.14 crore has already been disbursed to affected families, with an additional Rs 2.30 crore to be provided.

The state government has allocated Rs 239 crore for various development projects in Gandatwisa, including:

Construction of Narayanpur Market

Development of the Gandatwisa Ambassa road (51 km)

Development of cage farming for fisheries at Dombur Lake

Other infrastructure and community development projects

Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of peace and stability for development, stating that the government is committed to working towards "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas" (Collective Effort, Inclusive Development, and Universal Trust). He also warned that those who attempt to disrupt peace and harmony in the state will face legal consequences.

The Chief Minister's visit and the announced relief and development package demonstrate the government's commitment to supporting the people of Gandatwisa and ensuring a brighter future for the region.
