Sanjeev Jain, who holds the position of Managing Director and CEO at Parshwanath Developers Pvt Ltd, was intercepted and arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by a pursuing team of the Delhi Police after a pursuit that spanned 60 kilometers. The incident took place on Sunday, with the accused being a resident of DLF Phase-2 in Gurugram, Haryana, as disclosed by officials involved in the operation carried out by the Delhi Police Special Task Force Shahdara.
Authorities reported that a non-bailable warrant had been issued against Sanjeev Jain by the Joint Registrar of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Delhi. This legal action was initiated in response to Execution application No. 83 of 2022 connected to consumer complaint no. 2489 of 2017, specifically involving a case filed by Rajat Babbar & Anr against Ms Parshwanath Developers Pvt Ltd. The Shahdara Police Station had multiple warrants pending against Jain, comprising four non-bailable warrants and one bailable warrant from the National Commission, with one of the non-bailable warrants dated July 18, 2024, pointing to his non-compliance in appearing before the Ld Commission.
Following his apprehension at the airport, Sanjeev Jain was taken into custody for all the aforementioned cases in which warrants had been issued against him, culminating in his subsequent appearance before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on the very day of his arrest. The police underlined that the investigation into this matter is ongoing, hinting at the likelihood of additional developments yet to be disclosed about the case involving Jain from Parshwanath Developers Pvt Ltd.
