Adelaide Metro has launched a rail safety campaign featuring footage of incidents from across Adelaide's rail network to educate the public about the risks associated with unsafe behavior near trains and trams. The campaign, named Real Life Doesn't Rewind, is designed to highlight the potentially catastrophic consequences of reckless actions around rail lines and to promote pedestrian caution.
The campaign includes videos showing various scenarios where pedestrians put themselves in danger while crossing or being near rail lines. One video captures a pedestrian whose vision is obstructed by an item of clothing, unknowingly stepping into the path of an oncoming train, while another shows a child walking onto a pedestrian crossing before stopping just in time. Another clip depicts a person attempting to jump over an automated gate onto the tracks, narrowly avoiding a collision with an approaching rail car. These visuals aim to shock viewers into understanding the real-life risks associated with disregarding safety measures around trains and trams.
